Welcome to Aberdare Car Hire. These Terms of Service outline your use of our website and vehicle rental services. By utilizing our offerings, you agree to these terms.
Rental Terms
All vehicle rentals are governed by a comprehensive Rental Agreement, which will be provided at the time of booking confirmation or upon vehicle collection. This agreement outlines specific terms, conditions, insurance information, fees, and your obligations for the rental. In case of any discrepancies between these Terms and the Rental Agreement, the Rental Agreement will prevail.
Eligibility Criteria
Requirements for Vehicle Rental
- To hire a vehicle from Aberdare Car Hire, drivers must be at least 21 years old, with age requirements differing based on vehicle type. A valid driving licence relevant to the vehicle class is necessary, along with proof of identity and current address. Valid payment details and a security deposit are required, as well as compliance with any further conditions outlined in the Rental Agreement.
Booking and Payment Terms
- Bookings can be completed via our website, over the phone, or directly at our Aberdare office. A deposit may be needed to confirm your reservation. Full payment and a security deposit are usually required at the time of vehicle pickup. All prices are listed in British Pounds (£) and include applicable VAT. We accept major credit and debit cards, with secure processing through trusted payment partners.
Vehicle Pickup and Drop-off
- At the time of vehicle collection, it is your responsibility to conduct a thorough inspection and report any pre-existing damage right away. A vehicle condition report will be completed and signed to document this. When returning the vehicle, it should be in the same condition as when it was collected, taking into account normal wear and tear. Any new damage will be evaluated and additional charges may apply. Please return the vehicle with the same fuel level as received; refueling fees will be incurred for lower fuel levels. Late returns could result in extra charges, so it is advisable to contact us if you foresee a delay. You will be liable for any parking fines, traffic violations, or other charges accrued during the rental, in addition to an administration fee.
5. Insurance and Responsibility
- All rentals come with basic third-party insurance, and comprehensive coverage details, including excess amounts, are outlined in the Rental Agreement. You may have the option to purchase additional insurance to lower your financial liability. It is advisable to review these options thoroughly. You remain liable for any damage or loss up to the excess amount unless additional insurance is obtained. Any damage resulting from negligence or misuse remains your responsibility, regardless of insurance coverage.
Cancellation and Modifications
Cancellation and amendment policies depend on the type of booking and the notice period provided. For specific information, please check your booking confirmation or Rental Agreement. Be aware that late cancellations or no-shows may incur additional charges.
7. Restricted Activities
Prohibited Uses of Rental Vehicle
- Use of the vehicle for illegal activities is prohibited. Engaging in racing, rallying, off-road driving, or other dangerous behaviors is not allowed. Transporting hazardous materials or sub-letting to others is strictly forbidden. Driving under the influence of alcohol or drugs is unacceptable. The vehicle should only be used for its intended purposes, and passenger or weight limits must not be exceeded. Driving beyond agreed geographical boundaries requires prior authorization.
Breach of these terms may lead to rental termination and extra fees.
Liability Limitations
To the fullest extent allowed by English and Welsh law, Car Hire Aberdare will not be responsible for any indirect, incidental, special, or consequential damages, including loss of profits, data, or business resulting from your use of our services. Our total liability for any claim is capped at the rental amount paid over the past 12 months. This limitation does not apply to liability for death or personal injury resulting from negligence or fraud.
